Carport - Sayalonga - 2017
This carport was completed at the end of 2017, it consists of six pillars built from ladrillos rusticos (rustic bricks) reinforced with steel bars and a corrugated steel roof.
Decorating - London -2015
This one bedroomed flat was cleaned and completely redecorated for rental purposes.
Stone steps and gravel path - Velez-Malaga 2016
This customer wanted some stone steps and a chino path down to the previously unused orchard part of the garden.
Waterfall - Arenas -2017
This customer had a major water damage problem. When the rain was heavy, it would run down the drive and on to the sloping garden, cutting a huge trench through the earth. I filled the trench and built a stone waterfall where the water ran. This solved the water damage problem and created an interesting and unique feature in the garden at the same time.
Underground Wall - Torrox - 2017
This customer also had a problem with rainfall. His garden was a flat patch of land at the top of a mountain and when it rained it ran off to one side, eroding the edge and undermining the fence. The solution was to build a deep underground reinforced concrete wall inside the fence with drainage pipes embedded to take the water away at a much lower level. Eventually a balustrade will be built on top of this wall to complete the border and the chainlink fence will be removed.
Pool regrout - Arenas - 2017
This customer had black mould in the grout of his pool. He had tried various acids and treatments, but nothing worked for long as the roots were deep into the grout and the tiles were beginning to pop off as well. I scraped out all 7km of grout and replaced it along with the missing tiles for a fraction of the re-tiling cost and last summer the whole family came out to enjoy the new look pool.
Wall rebuild and expansion - Sayalonga - 2018
This customer's ancient dry stone wall had partially collapsed. I rebuilt and reinforced it. I also added a path and steps.
Pool Terrace extension - Arenas - 2017
For some reason, the builders of this pool had only terraced it on three sides. I extended the concrete base and terraced the fourth side to match.
Barbecue/Gazebo - Daimalos - 2018
This customer had a barbecue in place but the cover was in a bad way and they wanted the empty area next to it to be a covered area where they could sit and eat. I removed the existing barbecue roof, built new posts and framework alongside to match the existing structure and added a roof covering both areas made from split bamboo and reed. The roof looks as though it is all in one piece but it actually consists of 9 separate frames so if repairs are needed in the future, each frame can be replaced individually rather than having to replace the entire roof. I also clad all the steel cross bars in wood so that the whole structure had the strength of steel but the aesthetic look of wood
House Paint - exterior - Canillas de Albaida - 2018
This customer needed the outside of his large house painted, there was some flaking and bubbling of the existing paintwork and a quite complex roof system including 2 chimneys. This customer recommended a paint to me which I had ignored before because it had been too cheap for my liking, however, it was very good quality and considerably cheaper than the brand I had used before. It covered in one coat, is made locally in Malaga and is around 20€ per 15 litres cheaper than brands I have used in the past. This customer needed 75 litres for his house and saved over 100€ in paint alone. I will definitely be using this in the future, look at the results.
Stone Staircase - Algarrobo -2018
This customer had a very steep bank running from the pool terrace down to a flat area used for burning. The problem was that the bank filled with weeds very quickly but was difficult to maintain because of the steepness of the bank. Clearing the bank of weeds and getting them to the fire pit was difficult and hazardous. I built a huge 63 step natural stone staircase from the terrace down to the fire pit. From here temporary lateral tracks can be cut and the weeds removed and carried safely down for burning
Pool Steps and Tiling - Vinuela/Canillas de Aceituno -2019
This customer had some concerns about safety when it came to their young grandson visiting when on holiday. Firstly, the pool could only be accessed by ladders and secondly, a flower bed blocked the view of the pool from the shady terrace and so the adults would have to stand poolside to keep an eye on him when he was in there. To remedy both situations, I built wide steps into the pool and removed and tiled over the flowerbed to give them a decent view from the shaded seating area.
